Two pieces of concept art from the 2D, tend-and-befriend adventure-game, "Hollow Reef."
"Hollow Reef" was my first-draft Senior Capstone project. We started with a team of 5 - but alas before the start of the fall semester our programmer fell ill, leaving us down a man and without a primary game-coder on our team. Due to this, our team had to re-evaluate what potential games we could achieve. Myself and our designer had to step up into the rolls of co-game programmers.
The result was a more-art and design driven experience, where the player took on the role of a 'lost soul' exploring the vast, desert wastes of the Hollow Reef. You would build up a town on the back of a giant bone golem, gathering resources as the golem wandered the sands. Its calming and relaxing, with a charming atmosphere.
Despite our deficit, we ended up showing a final product at the game testing night. I am proud of the game, and especially the concept and in-game art I created.
